Everyone will be welcomed at Real Life. It doesn't matter what you look like or what kind of past you have, we are more concerned about the future.
Have you ever tried church and felt a little out of place? Or maybe you're a little apprehensive to go thinking you'll be judged or looked down on? Well, we've all been there before and understand what you're feeling. You won't be judged at Real Life. We are just interested in helping you progress further in your spiritual journey. Real Life is a church designed for those who don't really like to go to church.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We place a high priority on doing our best to present the vintage truths of the Bible in a sincere, fun, and honest way. You won't be required to speak or give if you don't want, we just want to encourage you along in your spiritual journey.
We have a casual format that will give you practical teachings from the Bible that will impact your everyday life.
FOR REAL LIFE
This means that we believe the Bible is a relevant book and has something to say to us today. So every Sunday you'll hear real life lessons from the Bible in understandable words, sometimes enhanced with videos, humor, and more!
The term "Sunday best" takes on a whole new meaning at Real Life. If you want to dress up, that is fine, but we just want you to know you may dress casually. Our preacher will wear blue jeans on Sundays.
Real Life is a nondenominational, independent, Christian Church. We’re "autonomous" (self-ruling) having no outside governing board or national headquarters. We use no creeds or trappings from any denomination and have never belonged to any kind of denomination. Our only rule of faith and practice is the Bible, which we believe to be God’s inspired Word.
When Jesus said to "love your neighbor as yourself" he didn't put any conditions on your neighbor. People are important. We don't want to be a church that excludes people, but we want to welcome them regardless of race, economic status, political leanings, past ghosts, current habits, wardrobe choices, station in life, etc. So it's true; anyone is welcome. And we don't just say it, we mean it. Remember, it's about the future.
“Jesus came to rescue us from listlessness as well as lostness; He came to save us from flat souls as well as corrupted souls. He came to save us from dullness. Our culture is awash in immorality and drowning in dullness. We have forgotten how to sing, how to laugh … We have been stunted by mediocrity.” - Mike Yaconelli
